A Lahore court on Monday sent YouTuber Saadur Rehman, better known as Ducky Bhai, to jail on a 14-day judicial remand in a case pertaining to alleged promotion of online gambling applications on social media.

Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo passed the order after the YouTuber was presented before the court on completion of his three-day physical remand. He rejected NCCIA's request for another extension in his physical remand.

The National Cyber Crime Agency (NCCA) sought the extension for further interrogation.

The case, filed by the state through NCCIA Lahore, cites multiple provisions of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, including sections 13 (electronic forgery), 14 (electronic fraud), 25 (spamming) and 26 (spoofing). It also includes charges under sections 294-B (offering prize in connection with trade) and 420 (cheating) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

According to the FIR, the inquiry began on June 13 after “reliable sources” indicated that several YouTubers and influencers were endorsing gambling and betting platforms in exchange for financial benefit.

It alleged that members of the public, influenced by these promotions, invested their money in apps such as Binomo, 1xBet, Bet365 and B9 Game, ultimately suffering financial losses.
