In the wake of the death of actress Humaira Asghar Ali, who was found dead in an apartment in DHA, fellow actor Durefishan Saleem took to Instagram to share a deeply personal reflection on life, death, and the often-overlooked beauty in ordinary moments.

“Death — as heavy as the word is — doesn’t come with notice. It can slip in while you’re asleep, while you’re eating your favorite meal, hugging someone you love, or even on an ordinary day, playing a game you thought you’d finish,” she wrote.

The post comes days after Humaira Asghar was found dead in an apartment in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA), a case that has shocked the entertainment community and prompted widespread conversations on loneliness, mental health, and the fragility of life.

Durefishan’s words, while not mentioning the deceased actress directly, carried a powerful resonance with the circumstances surrounding her untimely passing. “I pray, with all my heart, that whenever it comes—for me or anyone—it doesn’t come in silence. Not in loneliness. Not in an empty room,” she went on.

The actor, known for her grounded presence on- and off-screen, used her platform to remind her followers that life isn’t defined by outward success or grand moments, but by the quiet, real ones that often go unnoticed.

“We spend so much time waiting for the big break, the perfect timing, the ‘it’ things. But life doesn’t wait. It’s not in the ‘when.’ It’s in the now,” she said, urging others to slow down, be present, and nurture empathy in an increasingly distracted world.

Durefishan also touched on the importance of checking in on one another and creating space for emotional well-being, writing, “We live in a time where people shout their opinions louder than they listen, where empathy is rare, and most are too distracted to ask, ‘How are you, really?’”

Her post concluded with a moving tribute to simplicity and authenticity: “Here’s to a life beyond just success. A life that doesn’t need to be posted to matter. A life that feels real even in its quiet, unseen parts.”
