The super fun 'Moye Moye' trend is all the rage online and now, it's the go-to way to show when you're feeling down or disappointed in meme slang.

This contagious meme has become a sensation in South Asian countries, where people love putting their unique spin on things.

Interestingly, "Moye Moye" originates from the phrase 'Moye More' found in the song "Džanum" by Serbian singer Teya Dora, released in 2023. The catchy beat and repetitive nature of the phrase have captivated many, despite the correct pronunciation being "Moye More.”

The Serbian expression "moje more," meaning "my nightmares," finds itself in Teya Dora's song "Džanum." This musical piece delves deep into emotional despair and misery. The song conveys the profound sense of hopelessness that often emerge during life's low phase.

Despite the song's somber lyrics, which translate to "my nightmares," many users have repurposed it for comedic effect.

Interestingly, in India and Pakistan, Instagram reels featuring the song take a humorous turn, filled with laughter. These reels often depict a character missing a body part. When others notice the absence of a hand or leg, the scene shifts to a lively 'Moye Moye' dance.

The song gained popularity after India's loss to Australia by six wickets in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. People began creating videos on the internet, adding a humorous twist to the gloomy situation.

The music video "Dzanum" has amassed an impressive 57 million views on YouTube.

Singer Teya Dora expressed her gratitude on social media, acknowledging the global recognition of her music and highlighting how Serbian tunes are now enjoyed worldwide.

Previously, the song "Ooohe, Makeba," originally released in 2015 by French singer-songwriter Jain, went viral on social media, becoming a popular choice for background music in short videos. The song's title refers to Miriam Makeba, a renowned South African musician and anti-apartheid activist.
