Pakistani movies are better than Hollywood films: Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar

Acclaimed writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar opined that Pakistan produces better films than Hollywood, yet he noted that artists do not have respect or value in the country.
In a recent podcast, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar stated that Pakistani films are creatively far superior to Hollywood films, attributing this to their unique creative approach.
He strongly argued that his dramas his dramas are best adapted by Pakistani filmmakers instead of Hollywood filmmakers.
"We are more efficient than Hollywood; they just have resources, which we lack," said the renowned writer, who is currently embroiled in a legal battle in the 'honey trap' case.
However, Rehman acknowledged that Pakistan faces limitations in the field of arts and entertainment, which hinders filmmakers from telling stories on meaningful subjects. He explained that political and religious influences often interfere with filmmaking.
He said, "I am telling you, we are living in a country that crushes the artists."
Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, who frequently remains in the headlines due to controversies and scandals, said, "Creativity does not depend on America, India, or Japan. We make better movies than them [Hollywood] despite the scarcity of resources."
"I can make ten times better movies than Hollywood if we had one-third of their resources," he claimed.
He asserted that Pakistani cinema surpasses Hollywood in terms of creativity, emphasising that Pakistani artists possess greater talent.
