Famous TikToker Jannat Mirza recently referred to her older social media content as "cringe," explaining that she would prefer focusing on TikTok rather than pursuing a career in movies.
In a recent interview, Jannat was asked whether she aspired to star in a film or would rather continue creating content on TikTok.
She responded by highlighting TikTok’s accessibility in Pakistan, pointing out that cinema can be unaffordable for many people.
“TikTok is easily accessible, and I think the new generation prefers scrolling through TikTok videos on their phones while relaxing at home instead of going to the cinema,” she explained.
She emphasised that the platform’s easy access has made it popular among everyone, saying, “People can easily watch me on TikTok.”
When asked about the types of videos that received the most views, Jannat reflected on the trend when she first started making TikTok videos in 2017. “Back then, cringe videos were really popular,” she recalled.
Explaining her use of the term "cringe," she stated that those videos weren’t seen as cringe at the time but were considered "cool."
“Even I can’t watch my old videos,” Jannat said, adding that although she finds them embarrassing now, she hasn't deleted them and they remain on her social media accounts.
