Khalil-ur-Rehman says he is ready to work with Mahira Khan

Pakistan’s renowned writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar revealed the expected cast of his upcoming film, named Mirza Jutt.

The writer recently appeared in a YouTube show, where the host asked him about his new ventures.

In response, Qamar said that his upcoming film is Mirza Jutt.

When asked about the cast of the film, the author revealed that he will sign Humayun Saeed and "most probably" Mahira Khan.

The answer shocked the host, who asked Qamar about his past stance of never casting Mahira Khan in his new projects.

"We have to work brother," he responded.

At this, the host asked whether Qamar sorted out an "apology issue" with the Raees star.

"It's my stance and I won't go back foot from my stance," he reiterated.

The controversy between the two started when Qamar, in 2022, publicly said that he will always ‘curse’ himself for casting Mahira.

“I'll always curse on me for the sin I committed by casting her in a very sacred role in my Sadqay Tumhare.”

Explaining his hatred for the actor, Rehman re-shared an old tweet of Mahira where she slameed the writer for verbally abusing human rights activist Marvi Sirmed on national television in March 2020.

“Ye hai iss aurat ka wo tweet jo iss ne Marvi Sarmad k sath honay walay incident k aglay din kia tha (This is a tweet by Mahira which she posted after the Marvi Sirmed incident),” Khalil Ur Rehman posted. 

He added that he lost all respect for the actor after she dropped this tweet surrounding the controversy. 

However, now Rehman is ready to work with Mahira, but the latter is still yet to announce her decision.
