Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has filed a contempt of court petition in the Special Central Court, alleging that Adiala Jail authorities deliberately violated judicial orders regarding his right to communicate with his sons via WhatsApp and to undergo a medical examination.

The petition, submitted by Khan’s legal team—comprising Usman Riaz Gul, Zaheer Abbas, Shaheena Shahab, and others—accuses the jail superintendent of willfully disobeying court directives and making arbitrary decisions in violation of the law.

According to the petition, despite explicit instructions from the court, Imran Khan was not allowed to contact his sons via WhatsApp, nor was he permitted a medical checkup that had previously been authorized by the court.

The legal team has cited Sections 188 and 177 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which pertain to the willful disobedience of public servants' lawful orders and providing false information, respectively.

The petition further claims that the jail authorities’ defiance amounts to a direct challenge to judicial authority.

“There was no delay in implementing the court orders—there was a blatant refusal,” the petition states.

The case was heard by Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand, who issued notices to the concerned parties and adjourned the hearing until July 24.
