Kim Kardashian’s shapewear empire, SKIMS, valued at roughly $4 billion, is drawing criticism after announcing its official entry into the Israeli market through an exclusive partnership with Irani Corp, a leading high-end retailer.
The deal, which includes plans to open up to 15 standalone SKIMS stores by the end of 2026, comes at a time when Israel faces mounting international condemnation over its genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.
Critics argue that the move effectively normalizes and financially strengthens a state accused of committing war crimes.
Under the agreement, SKIMS will establish a major retail presence in Israel, with its first 300-square-meter flagship stores expected to open in early 2026 at prestigious locations such as Ramat Aviv Mall and Big Fashion Glilot.
Meanwhile, beginning November 10, Israeli consumers will be able to purchase SKIMS products through Factory 54’s online platform.
The decision has sparked outrage on social media, where activists are calling for a boycott of SKIMS and questioning Kardashian’s silence on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Many view the expansion as a form of complicity, arguing that global brands should not pursue business ventures in countries accused of severe human rights violations.
Founded in 2019, SKIMS gained international fame for its minimalist aesthetic and body-inclusive shapewear lines such as Fits Everybody, Soft Lounge, Cotton, and Seamless Sculpt.
The brand’s expansion into Israel—amid one of the bloodiest conflicts in modern times—marks a controversial chapter for Kardashian, whose public image has long been tied to social influence and activism.
