Madiha Imam opens up about suffering hearing loss after co-actor's slap during shooting

Acclaimed Pakistani actress Madiha Imam revealed an ufortunate on-set injury that left her with partial hearing loss after a co-actor accidentally slapped her harshly during filming.

She recently appeared on an Eid show and shared her expereine, explaining that the slap caused permanent hearing damage in one ear.

Faysal Qureshi corroborated the incident, stating, "It's true, it happened to Madiha on set." 

Imam clarified that she hasn't gone completely deaf but now requires others to speak louder when communicating with her. 

She emphasised the challenges of acting, saying, "Those who think actors work comfortably should understand it's not easy at all."

Regarding the incident, Imam stated, "The slap had such an impact on my ear that I'm still suffering from hearing damage." 

When asked if she had forgiven the co-actor, Imam replied, "Obviously, who would do this intentionally? It was an accidental slap." 

Imam's courage in sharing her experience highlighted the often-unseen risks actors have to face while performing.

Faysal Qureshi also shared a similar experience, recounting a time when actress Saba Qamar slapped him hard on set. He noted that there is a difference in impact between a woman's slap and a man's, saying that there are chances for greater harm from the latter.
