Mahira Khan reveals it took her years to accept Salim Karim’s marriage proposal

Pakistani superstar Mahira Khan, celebrated for her stellar performances and graceful presence, recently opened up about her personal life, revealing how her husband, Salim Karim, spent years trying to convince her to marry him.

Recently, Mahira appeared on an Eid show where she was joined by the cast of her upcoming film Love Guru. She revealed that her husband, Salim Karim, had been urging her to get married for many years before they finally tied the knot. 

Speaking about her personality, the Maula Jatt star described herself as expressive and romantic, saying that she doesn’t hide her emotions; she expresses what she feels without delay.

She also wished that her husband shared her emotional nature and openness, though she lovingly noted that Salim Karim is a shy and private person.

Mahira revealed that her husband prefers to stay away from the public eye and avoids media appearances. He doesn’t like coming in front of the camera.

The Parey Hut Love actress said that during one of their trips to London, people began recognising him and referring to her as Mahira's husband, which made him even more reluctant to appear at public events.

However, after their wedding videos went viral in October 2023, Salim Karim’s face became widely recognised, making it difficult for the couple to maintain their privacy.

Now everyone recognises him, Mahira said with a laugh, acknowledging how their wedding took social media by storm.

This Eidul Azha marks Mahira Khan’s second Eid after her marriage. Reflecting on her life post-marriage, she shared that not many things have changed significantly and that she continues to embrace life with the same passion.

Mahira Khan was previously married to Ali Askari in 2007. The couple had a son, Azlan, before parting ways in 2015 after eight years of marriage.
