Renowned actress Noor Zafar Khan strongly criticised journalist and former first lady Reham Khan for targeting her sister Sarah Khan over her recent remarks about feminism, particularly for involving Sarah’s daughter in the debate.

Earlier, Reham had lambasted Sarah’s views, stating that the actress enjoys the privileges of a public life because of feminists who fought for women’s rights.

In a previous interview, Sarah said she does not believe in feminism and would prefer to stay at home, like women did in earlier times, and allow men to bear financial responsibilities.

Reham responded by accusing Sarah of ignoring the historical struggle of feminists, and further speculated about her daughter’s future. She said, “Sarah has a daughter. What if, when she grows up and gets married, her husband stops her from working  what will she do then?”

Noor Zafar Khan took to her Instagram stories to respond, expressing outrage over Reham for involving a child in a political and ideological debate.

“You talk about feminism, but then stoop so low as to bring a three-year-old into the conversation. Is this your idea of empowerment? Is that what feminism has come to, dragging a child into your arguments just to take a jab at her mother?” she wrote.

Noor defended her sister, saying that Sarah had merely expressed her opinion and had not attacked or insulted anyone.

"She didn’t insult you. She didn’t attack anyone. And she certainly didn’t bring up anyone’s children. She spoke her truth.”

She further stated that Reham crossed a line no principled woman should ever cross.

“This isn’t feminism. This is bullying dressed up as activism,” Noor said, adding that Reham justified her degrading remarks against her mother.

"Real strength doesn’t come from silencing women, it comes from uplifting them. And real feminism,” she concluded, “doesn’t throw a child into the fire just to win an argument.”
