TV host and actor Sahir Lodhi has said that those who subjected Dr Aamir Liaquat to relentless trolling failed to recognise the harm they inflicted.

The ‘Raasta’ actor recently appeared on the 'Excuse Me' podcast hosted by Ahmad Ali Butt, where he delved into the nuances of his career in showbiz and shed light on the pervasive and harmful nature of cyberbullying and trolling.

When asked about his thoughts on the current trend of entertainment shows, Sahir, who introduced the phenomenon of entertaining shows, emphasised that he never positioned himself above others and avoided getting into a ‘rat race.’

He spoke highly of Fahad Mustafa and Aamir Liaquat, describing them as two good human beings.

Sahir opened up about his close friendship with Amir Liaquat and the profound impact his sudden demise had on him.

“When Dr Sahib passed away, it felt like I lost a brother, a friend. I met him 14 or 15 days before his demise. We all have committed wrongdoings in our lives, but thankfully, our scandals haven't gone public. We become so self-righteous that we start judging each other,” he said.

Sahir assertively addressed the trend of online trolling, stating that, “I've seen people talking about Amir Liaquat in this manner. I just hope and pray that we give people a little credit for being human. We all make mistakes, and we've never exempted anyone from this. I've witnessed Amir Liaquat generously giving money to those in need.”

Emphasising his benevolence, Sahir recalled that once he called Amir Liaqaut at midnight to replace a guest for an Eid-Milad un Nabi transmission and he readily agreed.

Sahir highlighted the devastating consequences of online bullying for individuals and their families.

"It doesn't matter to us who we are hurting. We fail to recognise that the people we troll have families. And trolls justify their actions by claiming that people should have thought twice before doing anything. These individuals should be grateful that they haven't been exposed, as everyone makes grave mistakes in their lives. They seem to believe they are exempt from making mistakes. Please respect people's privacy. We have no comprehension of the harm we inflict upon others,” he maintained.
