“Pregnancy rumours spread because I’ve put on weight:” Mahira Khan

In a first candid interview since her marriage, Lollywood megastar Mahira Khan spilled the tea on life with her husband Salim Karim, shut down pregnancy rumours and empowered women with her message of self-acceptance and financial independence.

The 'Legend of Maula Jatt' star revealed that the weirdest rumour she heard lately was about being pregnant. “I don’t know where they came up with it. I think it’s because I’ve put on weight,” she said.

When asked about her husband's quirks, Mahira chuckled and admitted that she dislikes her husband's reserved nature. 

“I hate that he’s not expressive and I tolerate that he is not expressive.” she quipped. 

Sharing a sweet detail about their life together, the 'Raees' actor revealed her husband's deep love of music while she prefers the calming sounds of nature. 

“Sometimes I like the music to be turned off but he [Salim] likes the music to be turned on all the time. It's like the minute he wakes he wants the music on. I like the sound of birds,” she said.

When asked about what she loves about her husband, the diva shared, “He tolerates the fact that I like having breakfast alone.”

If acting hadn't been her calling, Mahira confessed that she would have chosen to be a dancer or a poetess.

Taking a moment to empower women, the 'Bin Roye' actor encouraged women to embrace their natural selves, saying, “It’s okay if you do not look as good as people look when there are three filters on them,”

“There is nothing better for a woman than to be financially independent,” Mahira advocated for women's financial independence, deeming it a crucial aspect of empowerment.
