Saheefa Jabbar receives over Rs21,000 electricity bill for her "empty house"

Renowned actor Saheefa Jabbar Khattak expressed surprise and frustration over an exorbitant electricity bill she received for her empty house, calling it 'unreasonable.'

Taking to Instagram the actress shared a screenshot of her online payment receipt for her electricity bill. The bill, amounting to Rs21,625 left her astonished.

“I can’t wrap my head around this,” she said, adding that she lives alone and her house remains vacant except for the three to four times a month she visits.

“I don’t host guests and the only appliance running is the fridge. Yet, my electricity bill is shockingly high,” Saheefa explained.

She furthered on, "This amount is completely unreasonable. How can an empty house generate such a bill?"

“It is deeply concerning what is happening in this country,” her post read.

Exorbitant power bills have become a crippling financial burden for people in Pakistan, as the surge in additional taxes has dramatically increased electricity charges.

The electricity crisis has had a devastating impact on the country, with individuals taking their own lives due to the overwhelming financial strain of inflated bills.
