Almost everyone seems to have shared their opinions on the marriage of Shoaib Malik and Sana Javed. However, the issue arises when desi humour consistently relies on women as the punchline.

Actor and director Nabeel Zafar made a crass attempt at humour by sharing a note on his Instagram story, which took a distasteful and entirely misogynistic turn, labelling women as 'products.' His post was met with widespread condemnation.

He shared a handwritten note that read: "Boycott foreign products and prove to be a loyal Pakistani by promoting local products, courtesy Shoaib Malik."

Even without an explanation, the joke, though awful and cringey, reveals much about what the 'Bulbulay' actor intends to convey through his message, even if unintentionally.

It underscores the sorry state of our culture where one doesn't have to think twice before making women either a target of abuse or vulgar humour.

Nabeel's comments received widespread attention on social media and entertainment websites, with people vehemently condemning his offensive remarks.

“This is ridiculous! A woman isn't a product; someone tell this ill man!” noted a social media user.

“STOP OBJECTIFYING WOMEN. Period,” another user wrote.

Former Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik has tied the knot with actress Sana Javed, and the couple shared their delightful wedding picture on Instagram, donning embellished white ensembles.

The news of their marriage came as a surprise to netizens, as the duo had previously been married and kept their strained relationships with their ex-partners private.
