Professional wrestling legend Hulk Hogan has died at the age of 71.
Emergency responders were dispatched to his residence in Clearwater, Florida, early Thursday morning following reports of cardiac arrest, according to TMZ Sports.
Authorities confirmed multiple police and emergency vehicles were present at the scene, and Hogan was transported to the hospital via ambulance.
In recent months, concerns about Hogan’s health had circulated online. In May, he underwent a neck procedure, and speculation about his condition intensified in June. His wife, Sky, publicly denied rumors that he was in a coma at the time, stating his heart was strong and he was recovering well.
Hogan, born Terry Bollea, rose to prominence in the 1980s, helping transform professional wrestling into a global entertainment spectacle. His charisma and in-ring theatrics attracted a broad audience, including families and children, and he became a household name.
He later reinvented his persona in 1996 as “Hollywood Hulk Hogan” with the formation of the New World Order (NWO), further boosting his fame.
Hogan was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005. He was removed in 2015 after the release of a controversial recording, but later reinducted in 2020 as part of the NWO. He also found success in acting, notably playing Thunderlips in the 1982 film Rocky III.
