Renowned screenwriter and actor Yasir Hussain believes that women are more responsible than men for multiple marriages and extra-marital affairs due to their pursuit of a luxurious lifestyle.
In an interview with a private TV channel, Yasir voiced his strong opposition to the practice of polygamy, saying, “For me, I strongly don’t like this. I have loved a girl and married her. How can I think about another and marry her?”
When asked why all men don’t think like him, Yasir replied, “In our society, women are more responsible than men for extra-marital affairs and second marriages of men.”
"Men are not at fault," he added.
Elaborating on his view, Yasir questioned, “If a woman already knows that the man is married, how can she agree to marry him again?”

He acknowledged that there may be rare cases, “perhaps 0.1%”, where a woman was unaware that her partner was already married, however, he continued, “But I know many women who knowingly entered second marriages, fully aware of the man's existing marital status from day one,” he added.
Yasir further claimed, “I also know women who ask their husbands to leave their first wives.”
According to him, women often prefer an “established, sensible, and responsible man over a young partner.”
He futhered on, “When they see a married man managing a household well, sending his children to a good school, and owning a vehicle, he appears more desirable than a younger partner.”
While Yasir Hussain publicly opposes polygamy, his assertion that women are responsible for infidelity and polygamy in society is likely to provoke a strong reaction, given that these issues are hotly debated.
