'Chipkali': Hira Mani hits back at Kangana Ranaut for anti-Pakistan remarks

Pakistani actress Hira Mani has publicly rebuked Bollywood star-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut following the latter’s latest tirade against Pakistan amidst escalating military tensions between the two countries.

Taking to Instagram, Hira shared a screenshot of Kangana’s comments and responded with sharp wit and sarcasm. In a pointed jibe referencing Kangana’s long-standing feud with Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan, Hira wrote: “Hrithik already sent you flying once, and now you think you can take on Pakistan?” She added that Kangana shouldn't bother with the drama since “our army has already given a befitting reply.”

The digital sparring comes amid renewed hostility between India and Pakistan, which intensified after a deadly cross-border strike. In the early hours of May 7, Indian forces allegedly launched missile and drone attacks on civilian targets in Pakistan-administered regions including Azad Kashmir, Kotli, Muzaffarabad, and towns such as Bagh, Muridke, and Ahmadpur Sharqia.

According to Pakistani authorities, the attacks left at least 31 civilians dead—including two children—and injured 51 others.

Two mosques were reportedly destroyed in the strikes, drawing condemnation from across Pakistan and calls for accountability from international observers.

While Kangana Ranaut has previously courted controversy with her polarizing statements, her latest comments have not only stirred outrage in Pakistan but also reignited online backlash within India.

Hira Mani’s response reflects a broader sentiment in Pakistan’s entertainment and civil society, where celebrities and citizens alike are using their platforms to push back against what they view as inflammatory rhetoric from Indian figures amid an already volatile situation.
