Karachi’s Safari Park has recorded the birth of 15 animals belonging to various species, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) announced on Wednesday, calling the development a positive sign for the park’s wildlife conservation efforts.

According to a statement issued by the municipal body, the newborn animals include a mouflon, four Sindh ibex, four blackbucks, two chitals (spotted deer), one horse, two fallow deer and one white fallow deer.

The KMC said all newborns underwent medical examinations, and veterinarians confirmed they were healthy and receiving specialised care.

KMC spokesperson Daniyal Siyal said arrangements had been made to ensure the animals’ continued well-being, while Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab expressed satisfaction over the new births. He said the arrivals reflected the park’s growing capacity and the administration’s commitment to a sustainable habitat.

“I am pleased to announce the birth of 15 wildlife species at Safari Park. Their arrival not only enhances the beauty and diversity of the park but also indicates the healthy and nurturing environment we have created,” the statement quoted Wahab as saying. He added that a naming ceremony and celebration would be organised for the newborn animals.
