3-year-old Kulsoom was killed by aunt in Karachi's Landhi, police say

Police have arrested the aunt of three-year-old Kulsoom for her alleged involvement in the child's murder in Karachi's Quaidabad area.

Police officials said that the girl's aunt and another suspect have been taken into custody. They said that the aunt allegedly subjected Kulsoom to torture before killing her, placed the body in a sack and asked her brother, Nadir, to leave it outside the family's house.

The police said the toddler had been brutally assaulted before her death, adding that further investigation is underway. They said investigators had earlier detained more than 50 people and collected their DNA samples, but none matched the evidence.

Kulsoom's body was found in a sack outside her home in Quaidabad last month. Police had earlier said the girl went missing around noon, but her family did not immediately report her disappearance.
