A 63-year-old man, named Dilawar Khan, has become a shining example of a notion that age should never be a barrier to acquiring knowledge as he enrolled in a primary school to pursue his lifelong dream of getting an education.

Dilawar, a resident of Khongi in Khyber Pakhtunkhwan's Lower Dir district, was unable to attend school in his childhood due to financial hardships and the responsibilities of providing for his family.

However, at his retirement age, Dilawar has decided to fulfill his dream, and every morning, alongside his younger peers, he eagerly attends his class.

His decision to pursue education stems from a deep-seated passion to understand religion better and contribute to the propagation of Islam.

In an interview with a private news channel, Dilawar said: "During my 4-month chilla pilgrimage in Punjab, I realised the importance of education when I faced difficulty reading and understanding Hadees [Holy Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) sayings]. That's when I made the decision to pursue education."

Dilawar's dedication has not gone unnoticed, as both teachers and fellow students at the school are inspired by his commitment to lifelong learning.
