Protests broke out across Abbottabad today after the body of a female doctor, Dr. Warda Mushtaq, was discovered after her mysterious disappearance, on December 5, during duty hours. Dr. Warda served at Benazir Bhutto Shaheed hospital.

According to the FIR lodged by Dr Warda’s father, she left the hospital with an acquaintance, wife of a well-known businessman in Abbottabad and went to Jadoon Plaza, Mandian, after which she never returned home.

Investigators later recovered her body from the dense forest near Thandiani Road, which ignited protests and anger across the city.

Immediately after confirmation of her death, doctors, nurses and other hospital staff began a protest and paused all ongoing services at the hospital. This left patients feeling helpless and unable to receive routine care.

Authorities have taken Dr. Warda’s acquaintance, her husband and two others into custody, as part of the investigation. Police are skeptical and trying to find out whether Dr. Warda was kidnapped before being murdered.

This tragic incident has led the people of Abbottabad demanding justice and strict measures to ensure safety of people. The city remains in shock, while investigation continues, till justice is served.
