All airports across the country are now fully operational for smooth flight operations, after a two-day suspension due to security concerns following potential Indian aggression in the wake of Wednesday’s airstrikes.

Indian airstrikes targeted civilian areas in Pakistan at six locations across Punjab and Azad Kashmir between May 6 and 7. The attacks included strikes on mosques in Bahawalpur and Muridke, leaving 31 people dead and 46 injured. The victims included women and children.

In retaliation, Pakistan’s armed forces shot down five Indian warplanes and destroyed several military check posts. Additionally, around 35 Israeli-manufactured Indian drones attempted to breach Pakistani airspace but were successfully intercepted and downed.

Amid escalating tensions, the flight operations in Pakistan were suspended and airports in major cities were closed partially.

The authorities stated that the closure of airports affected at least 400 flights, of which 130 were cancelled and 24 were diverted on different routes, while others were delayed.

However, the flight operations at all airports were restored, but at least 149 flights from the different air stations, including Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore, were cancelled.

According to the flight schedule, as many as 42 flights from Islamabad, 36 from Lahore, 34 from Karachi, 11 from Sialkot, eight from Multan, six from Faisalabad, eight from Peshawar, and four from Quetta were cancelled.

Only six flights were operated from Karachi Airport since the operation resumed.
