A differently-abled woman, named Zahra Abbas, expressed her dismay at the lack of "empathy and understanding" from Airblue as she was allegedly denied boarding a flight due to an undisclosed requirement for an attendant by the private airline.
The passenger took to Facebook to share her distressing experience at the departure hall of Airblue.
"I'm heartbroken. Today, as I sat alone in the departure hall of Airblue, the company I trusted to take me back to my daughter in Karachi, I couldn't help but wonder: where is the empathy? Where is the understanding?" she wrote in her post.
Abbas claimed that she was "denied boarding because she didn't have an attendant"
"Was this even mentioned when I booked my ticket? Where is this policy on their website?" the woman questioned.
As per Abbas, she was on her way to meet her 4-year-old daughter in Karachi but she was "sidelined, ignored, and ultimately left behind."
"More than just a policy, it's about acknowledging humanity. I'm not just a passenger on wheels; I'm a mother yearning to be with her 4-year-old daughter. But the counter management seemed oblivious to this fact. As the minutes ticked by and the departure time drew near, I was sidelined, ignored, and ultimately left behind. Other passengers boarded, but I remained, forgotten and neglected. To the air hostesses who couldn't grasp the depth of a mother's longing for her child, I ask: where is your empathy? Where is your compassion?"
However, the airline has not issued any statement or clarification in this regard till the filing of this news.
