Apartment gutted in fire in Karachi's Dalmia Road area

A fire broke out in a flat on the eighth floor of a multi-storey building near Millennium Mall on Dalmia Road, on Wednesday, destroying valuables and household belongings, rescue officials said.

According to rescue authorities, firefighters from the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Fire Brigade and Rescue 1122 rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the blaze.

Officials said no casualties were reported in the incident. Preliminary findings suggest the fire originated in the kitchen. They added that the building's firefighting equipment was not operational.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control after nearly one hour of firefighting, followed by another 30 minutes of cooling operations to prevent the fire from reigniting.

A Rescue 1122 official at the scene said rescue teams, along with ambulances, responded immediately to the emergency and assisted KMC firefighters in extinguishing the blaze. A total of three fire tenders were used in the operation.
