Army, Rangers personnel to be deployed for AJK elections: chief election commissioner

Chief Election Commissioner of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) retired Justice Ghulam Mustafa Mughal has said that armed forces and Rangers will be deployed to ensure security during the upcoming elections and safeguard the electoral results.
He made these remarks while chairing a high-level meeting to review election arrangements, attended by members of the Election Commission, district returning officers, and officials overseeing constituencies for both AJK and Kashmiri refugees residing in Pakistan, according to media reports.
The Chief Election Commissioner stressed that all necessary steps will be taken to ensure free, fair, and transparent elections, adding that the code of conduct will be strictly enforced without exception for any candidate or political party.
He said that security arrangements will be reinforced through the deployment of the army and Rangers, and that the protection of election results and official records will be fully ensured.
Officials in the meeting also reviewed polling schemes, staffing of presiding officers, and additional administrative measures to maintain transparency and order during the electoral process.
