Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi, who saved a woman from an enraged mob in Lahore, has revealed that she receives a monthly salary of Rs140,000 along with additional perks and allowances.
During a recent interview with a private news channel, the brave policewoman addressed the claim often made by some bureaucrats that their salaries are insufficient to maintain their desired lifestyle, often leading them to seek additional income through questionable means.
She mentioned her own compensation package, stating that she receives a monthly salary of Rs140,000 along with benefits like a government car, petrol allowance, and uniform allowance.
Punjba's top cop emphasised that when the state provides for one's basic needs and offers additional benefits, "there is no justification for resorting to inappropriate methods to supplement income".
On overcoming challenges in male-dominated profession, ASP Shehrbano highlighted that "women have to work harder, dedicate more time, and exhibit exceptional passion and enthusiasm to carve their own path to prove themselves."
Recalling her initial posting in Faisalabad's Saddar area, Shehrbano said that her seniours had already warned her about the difficulties she might encounter. However, her strong performance shattered the notion of gender inequality in her chosen profession.
She denied rumours suggesting that she is a family member of Mohsin Naqvi or has any connections to influential families.
Recently, ASP Sheherbano tied the knot with Ashtar Naqvi, and their wedding pictures garnered attention on social media.
