Former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, spoke to the PTI supporters on Friday while visiting a PTI worker's home, who was killed during securtity operation in Islamabad, stating that she did not flee from D-Chowk but was instead left alone.
“I was deeply pained by the martyrdoms and could not understand why people were spreading lies and misleading others,” she said.
“I am not a woman who runs away. I would never abandon those who came out in support of Khan. I stayed at D-Chowk because Khan had instructed me to stay. But everyone left me; I was completely alone,” she stated.
Bushra Bibi described the situation, saying, “I was in my car at D-Chowk, entirely by myself. A few cars arrived later when the area was being cleared during the crackdown.”
She further said, “Khan had specifically told people not to leave me alone, but they did. My car even came under direct fire, and many people witnessed that I was left alone at D-Chowk.”
Bushra Bibi added that she visited the martyrs of the protest under Imran Khan’s instructions.
Earlier, Bushra Bibi and KP CM Gandapur fled the capital during the security forces' crackdown on PTI protesters and spent the night at the Mansehra Circuit House. They were accompanied by National Assembly Opposition Leader Omar Ayub and KP Assembly Speaker Saleem Swati.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) called off its protest at Islamabad’s D Chowk, following a large-scale midnight operation by law enforcement authorities against individuals deemed to be causing unrest in the capital.
