In a shocking incident, a trained Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) dog was shot dead by a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) bird shooter at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.

The dog was fatally shot by a CAA shooter, who mistook it for an ordinary dog, reports said.

According to airport sources, the ANF dog had escaped its cage and wandered onto the runway due to staff negligence.

The CAA bird shooter, posted at the airport, received a warning from the control tower during aircraft parking and opened fire on the dog, which claimed the life of the canine.

The trained dog played a vital role in detecting drugs in planes and passengers' luggage, making its loss a significant blow to airport security.

Both CAA and ANF officials have launched an investigation into the matter to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to officials, the investigation aims to hold accountable those responsible for the dog's death and ensure measures are taken to prevent similar incidents.
