Federal Ministers Atta Tarar and Ahsan Iqbal vehemently denounced a report on the PTI protest in Islamabad by the US-based news website Drop Site, stating that anti-Pakistan elements are attempting to sabotage the country’s institutions.

The Drop Site report, authored by journalists Ryan Grim and Murtaza Hussain, accused the Pakistan Armed Forces and Army Chief General Asim Munir of planning a security operation against the PTI protest.

The report cited an insider from the Pakistan Army and another anonymous source who confirmed the information, claiming that the operation was planned on November 25 at the Military Operations Directorate of the Pakistan Army.

Responding to the report, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar dismissed it as false news and propaganda, accusing journalist Ryan Grim of writing “fake news” following his earlier cypher story.

“I was there on the ground, each point is fake and made up. Attempts to malign the Army Chief and Pak Army are bound to fail,” Tarar posted on X.

He further alleged that such reports are aimed at weakening the army through “false allegations.”

Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal accused PTI of collaborating with anti-Pakistan forces to harm the country’s political and social fabric, calling it “a textbook application of fifth-generation war (whose weapon is information).”

He asserted that these tactics would be countered and that the enemies cannot hurt Pakistan.

Ahsan Iqbal also said that Imran Khan “will be held accountable for £190 million he siphoned off from the state exchequer in an open-and-shut case.”
