Exhumation of Mir Raza's grave to take place tomorrow as old medical board restored

Karachi: The exhumation of Mir Raza's grave has been scheduled for 11:00 am on Saturday, under the supervision of a judicial magistrate.

According to the schedule issued by the Police Surgeon Karachi, a medical board will carry out the exhumation in the presence of the court-appointed magistrate.

All members of the medical board have been instructed to arrive at the cemetery by 10:30 am ahead of the proceedings.

The exhumation will take place at a cemetery within the jurisdiction of Ferozabad Police Station.

The process will be conducted in the presence of the Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate (Karachi East). The Senior Superintendent of Police (East), the relevant Station House Officers (SHOs) and the investigating officer have also been formally notified of the scheduled proceedings.

Earlier, Sindh Health Department reconstituted the medical board tasked with overseeing the exhumation and fresh medico-legal examination of businessman Mir Raza, issuing a fresh notification in compliance with a court order amid an ongoing dispute over the composition of the earlier panel.

The development came hours after the exhumation process was not started when Mir Raza’s family refused to allow the procedure to proceed under a previously reconstituted board, insisting that only the original medical panel appointed for the case was acceptable.
