In a shocking incident in Lahore, the Children’s Hospital reportedly exchanged a male sick child with a dead baby girl and handed over the body to heirs, according to the police.

An official said a four-day-old baby boy was brought to the hospital for treatment, and during the treatment, doctors declared him expired and handed over the body to his father, Irfan, who took the body to his native city Gujranwala for burial.

Surprisingly, Irfan came back and revealed that he had brought his son to the Children's Hospital for treatment, but they handed over the body of a baby girl.

According to the officials, his complaint led the matter towards a new revelation that the baby boy had reportedly gone missing.

However, the first information report was registered on the complaint of the victim’s father Irfan, stating that it was the negligence of the hospital administration who reportedly replaced his son with the dead body of a girl.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Health Department has taken the notification of the matter and constituted an inquiry committee comprising three senior doctors of the same hospital.

The committee was directed to inquire into the matter and submit a fact-based report.
