Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday landed in hot waters after the provincial government sent McDonald's meal bags as gift to school children in Murree.
McDonald’s is a US-based global chain but its franchises are often owned by Alonyal for more than 30 years in Israel.
The renowned fast-food chain has been subject to boycotts and protests since Alonyal announced shortly after the 7 October attack by Hamas that it would be donating free meals to Israeli military.
A day earlier, PML-N seniour vice-president made a surprise visit to a Government Girls High School in Murree.
During her visit, she inquired about the problems faced by the girls in the school.
CM Punjab also offered to provide free medical treatment to a disabled student.
Today, Pubjab government sent a bulk of McDonald's meal bags for the children, which was not applauded by the netizens.
The PML-N's also shared the videos with its followers on the microblogging site X.
"CM Maryam Nawaz sent lunch to the students and teachers at the school she visited yesterday in Murree," the caption read.
However, the post was later deleted by the PML-N from its official account.
The social media users lashed out at the CM Maryam Nawaz for not opting for a locally-made product amid a boycoyy movement.
