However, the cold weather is expected to persist in Karachi until January 30, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Wednesday.
In an early warning forecast, the PMD said that the weather will remain dry during this period, with cold nights.
The minimum temperatures are expected to remain between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius, it said.
The PMD further said that the city may continue to feel the impact of north-easterly winds, which are blowing from Balochistan.
Meanwhile, Radio Pakistan reported that cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, while very cold weather is expected in hilly areas for the next twelve hours.
Fog may occur in patches, at a few places in the north-eastern Punjab.
The temperature of major cities was recorded this morning. Islamabad and Peshawar are 5 degrees Celsius, Lahore is 10, Karachi is 12, Quetta is -5, Gilgit is -4, Murree is -1, and Muzaffarabad is 0 degrees Celsius.
On the other hand, record-breaking snowfall has been witnessed in Naran and Kaghan, which has resulted in paralyzing the daily life, roads, and electricity supply for the last five days, causing severe difficulties to the people.
