Eid ul Adha is expected to be observed on June 7 in Pakistan and June 6 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as per astronomical predictions regarding the sighting of the Zil Hajj moon.

In Pakistan, astronomer Dr. Faheem Hashmi stated that the new moon is unlikely to be visible on May 27 as it will only be 11 hours old at sunset, making sighting impossible.

However, the crescent is expected to be clearly visible on May 28, with the moon being over 35 hours old, leading to Eid ul Adha likely falling on June 7.

Meanwhile, in the UAE, the Emirates Astronomy Society announced that the Zil Hajj moon may be sighted on May 27, making May 28 the first day of the month.

According to Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Chairman of the society, the crescent will appear at 7:02 AM UAE time on May 27 and remain visible for 38 minutes after sunset, allowing for its probable sighting. As a result, Eid ul Adha in the UAE is expected to be celebrated on June 6.

Eid ul Adha, the "Festival of Sacrifice", commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion to God and is marked by prayers, family gatherings, and the ritual sacrifice of livestock, with meat distributed among relatives and the needy.

The variation in dates is due to differences in moon sighting methodologies across regions. Official announcements will follow local moon sighting confirmations.
