The International Islamic University (IIU) has instructed the Dawah Academy to cease immediately the collection of the Rs5,000 non-refundable application fee for Aitikaf, as per the varsity's spokesperson on Thursday.

President Hazal Hamood Al-Otaibi of IIU has directed the academy to seek official approval from the varsity president before making any decisions related to Faisal Mosque that affect the public, stated spokesperson Nasir Fareed.

The president advised the academy against making unilateral decisions.

Faisal Mosque in Islamabad has extended an invitation to worshippers to participate in Aitikaf during Ramadan, a period involving dedicating oneself to worshipping Allah during the final 10 days of the holy month.

This year, Faisal Mosque plans to accommodate 300 individuals for Aitikaf, with applications accepted on a 'first come first serve' basis until the 10th day of Ramadan.

Interested worshippers can obtain and submit application forms from the mosque's Islamic Centre. There is a non-refundable fee of Rs5,000, payable through a bank draft, along with the submission of necessary documentation.
