Imran Khan claims Faiz Hameed will be forced to testify against him

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has said that a scheme is underway to have him tried in a military court, with ex-ISI chief Faiz Hameed being pressured to testify against him.

He made the claim in an informal talk with journalists at Adiala jail during the hearing of £190 million corruption case.

"The entire drama surrounding General (retd) Faiz Hameed is being orchestrated to drag me into a military court. They want to make Faiz Hameed a witness against me," the veteran politician said.

Mr Khan maintained that after all cases against him have been dismissed, efforts are now being made to shift his trial to military jurisdiction.

"They are trying to extract a statement from the former spymaster, claiming that May 9 was part of a conspiracy. If Faiz Hameed is accused of ordering my arrest or tampering with CCTV footage, then he should be held accountable."

He further added, "Those who are guilty, don't demand judicial commissions. He accused that a regime change was orchestrated against the PTI and he was jailed."

The cricketer-turned-politician denounced claims that General Faiz Hameed used to instruct Bushra Bibi, stating,  “Are they not ashamed of these accusations?”

Khan once again accused former army chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa of betraying him.

"General Bajwa stabbed me in the back. He made a deal with Nawaz Sharif and removed the former ISI chief from his position," he added.

Khan asserted that upon Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faiz Isa’s retirement, the truth about election fraud will be exposed.

The 72-year-old politician explained that he told the former army chief not to remove Faiz Hameed because he diligently negotiated with the Taliban for three years.
