Federal govt declares public holiday on Eid Milad-un-Nabi

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced a public holiday across Pakistan on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the proposal to observe a public holiday on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal, following which the Cabinet Division issued a formal notification.
According to the notification, Wednesday, August 26, 2026, will be observed as a public holiday across the country to mark Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ, the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
All federal government offices and institutions will remain closed on the occasion, in accordance with the official holiday notification.
