The body of journalist Khawar Hussain, who was found dead in his car outside a hotel in Sanghar two days ago, underwent a second post-mortem at Civil Hospital Hyderabad on Monday.

The second autopsy was conducted by a medical board of senior doctors on the request of the late journalist’s brother, Ejaz Hussain.

Police surgeon Dr Waseem Khan said that CT scans and X-rays were also carried out, and samples were collected for forensic tests. He added that no torture marks were found on the body and that a preliminary report would be released within two days.

The final opinion on whether it was suicide or murder would depend on the detailed forensic report.

After the post-mortem, the body was shifted to Sanghar for burial, where his funeral prayers were held. His relatives, journalists, and locals attended the funeral in large numbers.

Meanwhile, a probe committee chairman, Azad Hussain, told reporters that it was premature to conclude the cause of death. He said that the police had inspected the crime scene, reviewed CCTV footage, and were conducting forensic analysis of the mobile phone and weapon.

No evidence of gunfire has been found so far, he added, but investigations are ongoing.
