Islamabad police discovered the body of a German diplomat on Monday in his apartment, located in the Diplomatic Enclave of the Federal Capital.
The deceased was identified as Thomas Fielder, a second secretary at the German Embassy.
According to the police officials, they were informed by the Embassy staff, who became concerned after his two-day absence from work without prior notice.
Police said that when the Embassy staff visited his apartment and found him unresponsive, they immediately alerted the authorities.
The body was transported to the hospital for a post-mortem. The cause of the death is still unknown but it is being said that Fielder had a minor cardiac arrest, which may have contributed to the incident.
After informing the Embassy about the situation, police began an investigation into the matter.
Previously, a serving police inspector of Islamabad was found dead in his apartment. The sources in the hospital had said that his death appeared to be natural, as no mark of torture was found on his body.
The inspector was identified as Ashiq Khan, who was serving in the Investigation Wing of the Islamabad Police.
