The federal government has announced plans to enhance security measures for railway operations in Balochistan by deploying drone surveillance and installing CCTV cameras at all railway stations.
Federal Minister for Railways, Hanif Abbasi, directed railway authorities on Tuesday to integrate advanced safety technologies and improve emergency preparedness to ensure a secure environment for passengers.
"We need to modernize railway infrastructure, with a special focus on tracks, stations, and rolling stock, to ensure a smooth and reliable service. The introduction of modern technologies can make Pakistan Railways the preferred choice for travel," Abbasi stated.
The minister also confirmed that the Jaffar Express will soon resume operations, as its track has been restored. Train services had been suspended following a recent attack on the Jaffar Express in Balochistan.
