Following its hijacking by the banned terrorist organization, the devastated Jaffar Express finally arrived at Quetta Railway Station with broken windows and bullet-riddled bogies, telling a harrowing story of the violence and chaos it had endured last week.

The railway administration confirmed the arrival of a terrorised train at the station, where it was destined last week after leaving Peshawar’s track, but could not reached, as it was stopped by the terrorist attack in a rugged area of Balochistan by Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), with alleged facilitation of neighbourly India and Afghanistan.

The extraordinary attack on the Jaffar Express, carrying more than 400 passengers, left 26 hostages, including 18 security personnel dead, while a subsequent military operation neutralized at least 33 terrorists.

A Pakistan Railways official stated that the train’s bogies will be put back on track after repairs as the train sustained severe damage, with multiple bullet holes and shattered windows.

“Jaffar Express has been brought from Mushkaf to Quetta, and at least three hand grenades were recovered from the damaged coaches and safely disposed of,” stated a PR official.

It is pertinent to mention that the attack on Jaffar Express in Balochistan led authorities to temporarily suspend railway services to Quetta indefinitely, halting train travel for passengers heading to the province.

Officials had stated that train operations in Quetta remain suspended indefinitely due to the absence of security clearance.

Meanwhile, the suspension of trains to the provincial capital was due to repairs and restoration of the damaged track after it received security clearance.
