Defense Minister Khawaja Asif expressed concerns over the ongoing political uncertainty in the country, which he argued emerged due to the PTI protest.
He revealed that negotiations between authorities and protesters remained inconclusive.
Minister criticised Bushra Bibi’s strategy, who has been leading the march to Islamabad’s red zone despite Article 245 being enforced in the federal capital.
He said that the second-tier leadership of PTI is showing restraint, but Bushra Bibi wants to move forward considering this as "a rare opportunity."
Khawaja Asif maintained that "she [Bushra] knows she is close to D-Chowk and has become a leader [...] she will press the advantage she has."
"If PTI is to be stopped, there is no other way but to use force," he said.
"Imran knows his wife is controlling the situation," he warned that the ongoing protests are jeopardising the nation's stability and could result in a major setback.
Defense Minister opined that previously, the then-Home Minister Rana Sanaullah successfully repelled the PTI protests in Islamabad, asserting that the government is determined to protect the capital at all costs.
PTI protesters scuffled with paramilitary force, vioent clashes claimed lives of four ranger officers while five rangers and two police officers injured.
According to security sources, more than 100 police personnel were injured so far, and many of them were in serious condition.
Under Article 245, the army has been deployed in the federal capital, and it has been made clear that those who break the law will be dealt with an iron hand while clear orders were given to shoot those who spread chaos on the spot.
