Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said the government is bound to comply with the court’s order regarding the treatment of PTI founder Imran Khan.

He said that if Imran Khan cannot be treated at a government hospital, he will be transferred to Shifa International Hospital, adding that a decision could also be made to send the PTI founder abroad for treatment.

Speaking in the Senate, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said the government had previously stated in the House that it would fully comply with the Supreme Court’s decision.

He said the government approached the Supreme Court only to seek clarification on whether the ruling applied specifically to one prisoner or to all other prisoners in the country as well.

Meanwhile, the government has only a few hours left to implement the court order regarding Imran Khan’s transfer to a hospital. The PTI has prepared to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the government if the order is not followed.

PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja described today as a decisive day, saying that the government has withdrawn its review petition against the court order and now has no option other than transferring Imran Khan to a hospital.

Earlier, the Supreme Court registrar returned the review petition challenging the order to transfer Imran Khan to a hospital after raising objections. According to sources, the government is expected to address the objections and file a new petition today.
