Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that former PM Imran Khan will be taken to hospital twice in the coming days and must receive a scheduled eye injection on February 25.
Speaking to media, Chaudhry confirmed Khan would be shifted from jail specifically for the procedure, noting he had already received one injection on January 25 and still required two more doses.
He informed that the treatment would take place at a tertiary-care facility in Islamabad or Rawalpindi and that the hospitalization would be limited to administering the injection.
Furthermore, he added that doctors who examined Khan in jail had recommended treatment at a major hospital and that authorities had previously taken him to the PIMS under strict security.
Tariq Chaudhry emphasized that the government’s priority was to provide “the best treatment facilities” and invited opposition representatives to attend examinations, rejecting allegations of secrecy.
Opposition parties and Khan’s family have accused authorities of lacking transparency and restricting access for his personal physicians.
The dispute has fueled protests and heated political exchanges, with both sides accusing the other of politicizing Khan’s health.
