Hajj to cost over Rs1 million for Pakistani pilgrims under government scheme

The government has reduced the expenses for Hajj 2024 by Rs100,000 compared to last year for Pakistani pilgrims, the Ministry of Religious Affairs said.
The reduction was announced by the former Caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs Aneeq Ahmed under Hajj Policy 2024.
He said the Hajj cost under the government scheme was reduced to Rs1,075,000 for the upcoming holy sojourn. Last year, the cost for Hajj under the government scheme was Rs1,175,000.
Around 89,605 Pakistanis are expected to perform Hajj this year under the government scheme.
However, the first flight for pilgrims will depart from the federal capital for Saudi Arabia on May 9.
The total of 11 flights will carry operations on the first day of the scheduled operation to transport 2,160 Hajj pilgrims.
Karachi will see off 330 passengers via 2 flights, Islamabad 680 via 3 flights, Lahore 670 via 3 flights, Multan 329 via 2 flights and Sialkot 151 via a single flight.
The first Hajj flight from Quetta will leave for the Kingdom on May 11 and from Sukkur on May 27.
The month-long pre-Hajj flights' operation would culminate on June 9.
