An anti-terrorism court in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Monday reserved its verdict on a bail petition filed by the poet Ahmed Farhad Shah.

The court has reserved the verdict after hearing the arguments of the parties.

The journalist was presented before the court handcuffed and surrounded by police personnel.

As he reached court, Farhad recited the revolutionary couplet to boost the morale of his friends and family members.

On May 14, Farhad was allegedly abducted from his home in Islamabad.

Following his arrest, Farhad's wife moved the Islamabad High Cout (IHC) seeking the recovery of her husband.

In the petition, she also requested the court to identify, investigate, and prosecute those responsible for his disappearance.

Later, Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) Mansoor Usman Awan on May 29 revealed in the IHC that the missing poet was arrested by AJK police.

After the discovery, the poet's family met him at the Kahori police station situated outside Muzaffarabad.

Two days earlier, Farhad was brought to a hospital in Muzaffarabad for his medical check-up.

On the other hand, the federal government filed a plea in the top provincial court seeking to wrap up Farhad's recovery case.

However, the petition was rejected by IHC's Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, saying he would wrap up the case on the day when Farhad appears personally in the hearing.
