The Sindh government on Wednesday rescinded the transfer order for assistant commissioner Hazim Bangwar, who was allegedly dismissed from his position last month for sending eviction notices to former officials.
“A notification issued by Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah stated that the department’s notification dated 28/10/24 concerning the transfer of Hazim Ali, an Officer of PMS (BS-17) from the commissioner’s office in Karachi to the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department is hereby canceled/withdrawn.”
Last month, the “cool” bureaucrat was taken out of the assistant commissioner role and instructed to report to the Sindh Services and General Administration Department.
Known for his unique style, Bangwar served at the Karachi Commissioner's office as the assistant commissioner general for the city.
He gained attention and popularity among the public due to his commitment and service, as well as his eclectic fashion sense, after becoming the assistant commissioner in North Nazimabad in 2023.
He once again garnered media attention following reports of his removal from the official position last month.
The specific reason for Bangwar's "removal" was not disclosed. However, insiders shared that he was transferred due to a complaint regarding notices he issued to former officials who were extending their stay in official residences.
