Hot and humid weather is expected to persist across most parts of Pakistan on Tuesday, although isolated rain and thunderstorms are likely in several northern and northeastern areas, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said.

The Met Office warned that heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours could trigger flash floods in streams and nullahs as well as landslides in vulnerable areas of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. It urged residents and local authorities to remain vigilant.

Islamabad and its surrounding areas are likely to remain hot and very humid.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, isolated rain and thunderstorms are forecast in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kalam, Malam Jabba, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Parachinar, Buner, Peshawar, Kurram, Kohat and Waziristan, while the rest of the province is expected to remain hot and humid.

Punjab is also likely to experience hot and humid conditions, with rain expected at isolated places including Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal and Okara.

Sindh will remain hot and humid, with central and upper districts expected to experience very high daytime temperatures. However, rain and thunderstorms may occur in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Karachi and nearby coastal areas.

Similar weather is forecast for most parts of Balochistan, although Khuzdar, Zhob and adjoining areas may receive isolated showers.
