Security forces killed five suspected terrorists, including a potential suicide bomber, during an IBO in Balochistan’s Pishin district.

According to police and CTD officials, the raid targeted a militant hideout near the old Surkhab refugee camp after authorities received credible intelligence information about an impending terrorist attack.

During the operation, militants reportedly opened fire on the raiding team, triggering a fierce gun battle that lasted nearly an hour.

Authorities reported that one of the suspects detonated himself during the clash while four accomplices were killed in retaliatory fire.

Moreover, security personnel recovered weapons, explosives and sensitive maps from the site, suggesting detailed planning for attacks on the Police Lines and a cadet college in Pishin.

Officials added that the slain militants were linked to previous attacks targeting civilians and police in the region.

According to authorities, clearance and search operations continued in surrounding areas to ensure no remaining militants were present.

Security operations have intensified after a rise in militant attacks nationwide. Just days earlier, a suicide attack on a checkpoint in Bajaur killed 11 soldiers and a child, highlighting the ongoing security challenges.
